Meet our CEO
My name is Bria J. Townsend and I am the CEO of Simply Exceptional Life Solutions (SELS). I started SELS because I saw too many people—brilliant, talented, driven people—carrying the weight of doing life, work, and transition alone. After years working across sports, events, strategy, and player support, I realized that what people truly needed wasn’t just a service. They needed a partner. Someone who could step in with clarity, handle the details with care, and create space for them to breathe again. SELS was born from that belief: that everyone deserves a team behind them, access to reliable help, and solutions rooted in grace, structure, and support. My goal wasn’t to build a business—it was to create a resource that empowers others to move through life more confidently, intentionally, and exceptionally.
My Story
Bria J. Townsend, from PG County, MD, is the CEO & Founder of Simply Exceptional Life Solutions, LLC, a company specializing in event planning and unique problem-solving services. She earned her BA in Economics from Spelman College and her MS in Sports Management from Columbia University, educational experiences that shaped her strategic mindset and passion for leadership.
Bria’s career spans influential roles across the sports industry, including the NBA, Rivals at Yahoo Sports, Life After Sports LLC, CSM Leaddog, and PwC, where she developed expertise in operations, player development, and organizational strategy. Known for her ability to elevate athletes and create meaningful connections, she continues to drive impact through her leadership and entrepreneurial ventures.
A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Bria also serves on the board of the Morehouse College Sports Business Conference. Outside of work, she is a devoted aunt, self-proclaimed chef, avid traveler, and loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan, passionate about empowering others to define and pursue exceptional paths.
